College/Summer Rugby
Dear Rugger:
Congratulations on making it through another year of
Rugby! The sport demands both mental and physical
toughness that will serve you well long after college.
As we begin another year, we wanted to let you know
of our Rugby club located in the heart of the Hudson
Valley. Our players come from as South as Rockland,
as East as Poughkeepsie, and as North as Margaritville.
We’re a young Division III club that has established
itself at the top of the MetUnion (Metropolitan Rugby
Union).
Hudson Valley Rugby encourages the growth of Rugby
through fundamental training, established match
strategies and eventual success by execution during
the match. We have a simple, but effective leadership
core. Our training and game facilities are located in
Orange County. We have both a Men’s and Women’s
side, along with a Youth Program.
Little is known about the sport of Rugby in the U.S.
and even less is known about what it means to be a
“rugger”. Should any of your players or alumni be
interested in playing, let this letter serve as an open
invitation to come out and join us!
